中南大学湘雅医院新医疗区大楼工程，主要用于综合性医疗服务，占地面积3.2万㎡，总建筑面积272768.92㎡，建筑最高高度98米，地下室二层，裙楼五层。地上最高层为23层，分为A、B、C、D、E栋，A、B、C栋总造价为9.165亿元。基础采用混凝土灌注桩、筏板基础，结构为框架剪力墙，外墙装饰采用陶瓷板、石材、铝板幕墙；内墙主要为防霉抗菌乳胶漆，干挂石材、树脂板，纤瓷板鑲贴，楼地面主要采用橡胶地板、花岗岩、玻化砖；室内顶棚装饰主要采用埃特板、微孔金属板吊顶。大楼内设门诊大厅、住院大厅、儿科门急诊，含72个门诊病区和急诊区，整个大楼设57个病区，总床位数达2310个，是亚洲规模最大的单体现代化医疗大楼。
